Rowayton Sail & Power Squadron is a unit of United States Power Squadrons (USPS®), the largest non-profit educational/fraternal boating organization in the world. USPS has members in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our primary goal is to promote the highest standards of seamanship, navigation and safety. Membership is open to all with a love of boating. Call, email any of the members listed below for more information.

Rowayton Sail & Power Squadron was created on 21 May 1962 with 39 members when a charter was granted by USPS national headquarters. Most of the credit for its creation is due to the efforts of P/C Harold G. Greene, Jr., AP and P/C Francis X. McBride, AP, both of whom were members of Norwalk Power Squadron. Frank McBride was the squadron’s first commander, and our annual Brien McMahon High School scholarship is named in his memory.

Rowayton has the honor of having four district commanders come from within its membership. The squadron has also been named best in the district three times. And currently, two of its members are active on national committees; including the rear commander and chairman for Publications. Rowayton is also responsible for establishing the D/2 Memorial Service.

Rowayton is proud of its history of achievement, and is dedicated to continuing this tradition of excellence well into the 21st century.
